I was getting ready to paint a face for the first time, on the biggest canvas I'd ever worked on. The fear of messing it up brought up memories of 'mistakes' I'd made in the past, but after those, I saw my baby self, my joyful child self, and even moments that existed before memory.

The Divine Mother came through the portal as a representative of the creative cycle of endless beginnings. In her strong, spacious, and unshakably loving presence, I felt safe to be seen in a way I never had before. And she didn’t flinch.
