The Libra Eclipse Family Reveals Itself

A Reflection on the Full Moon at 12°21′ Libra

This Libra Full Moon has me remembering a dream I had several years ago.

In it, my partner, Keane, was carrying me into the Libra full moon. That moon loomed large before us, stretching from as far as the eye could see and landing right on the ground in front of us, like a giant portal. And he just carried me right into it.

My heart feels so full and alive every time I remember that dream.

Working with astrology means working with time, and one of the things I find most alive about lunar cycles is the way they invite us to travel within it - rooted in the present moment, moving back to the portals where something began, and forward into what's coming.

This Full Moon belongs to a lunar family that began with the Libra Solar Eclipse on October 2, 2024. And it is shining its light on our relationships.

Moon Families and the Longer Arc

Moon families help us track a longer arc of the lunar cycle that unfolds over two and a quarter years.

Where the monthly lunar cycle moves through its phases in about 29 days, a Moon family moves in nine-month increments. Something seeds at the New Moon, issues emerge at the First Quarter, the Full Moon invites exposure, and the Last Quarter brings closure, integration, and the arrival of what's been earned.

Life seen in this way reminds us that not everything is meant to arrive all at once. This is why I love working with Moon families!

What Began in October 2024

The Libra Solar Eclipse on October 2, 2024 is where this Moon family began.

Eclipses are doorways. Something is ending, something is beginning, and we often don't fully understand what happened until much later. That's part of what makes them worth tracking.

This eclipse occurred on the South Node in Libra. The South Node describes those well worn ways of being that once served a purpose but now are ready to shift. In Libra, those patterns are revealed in the realm of relationship.

For some of us, that may have shown up as over-giving, or keeping the peace at the cost of our own truth. For others, it may have looked more like maintaining polite and surface level connections as a form of protection.

However it arrived, the invitation was the same: to look honestly at how we participate in relationships.

At that moment, Mercury had already moved through the heart of the Sun and was on its way to meet the Moon. Ideas were forming around identity, on their way to the emotional reality of what their aims were asking.

Think back to October 2024.
Was something becoming clear in your mind that your heart was still trying to find its way through?

Mars Then, Jupiter Now

The other thing I noticed when looking at this eclipse chart is that Mars was square to the Sun, Moon, and Mercury.

Mars in Cancer fights for what feels like home. It is driven to protect and provide a sense of safety and belonging for the people and places it loves. But Mars can also be frustrated in Cancer, where that raw, instinctive movement forward is called to slow down and consider a more emotionally attuned approach.

Now, at this Full Moon, Jupiter sits at that exact same degree (Cancer 15°). Where Mars was ready to act, Jupiter shows us what we've learned through those actions.

A Living Example

Looking back in my own journals to the beginning of this Moon family, one of the threads that was requiring the most of me at that time was putting all of my energy into building Angel Living: Astrology + Creativity = Alchemy.

That meant a shift in the Full Color Living business that Keane and I had been building together. Creative self-expression and emotional well-being form the foundation of this partnership, but astrology didn’t fit into that business model. I felt the drive to make space for that - and for all of me - within my business and daily activities (hello, Mars!). This resulted in a change in our relationship and a new way of being together.

Now at this Full Moon, we are embracing a new rhythm around what we're building and the long term vision we're both invested in. Looking back, I can see the growth edges and the grace that have accompanied us, not just as partners in life, but as partners in business and partners within our community.

Which leads me to a very personal reason why I love tracking the lunar families…

As someone with "a lot of Virgo" in their chart, self-doubt has been my biggest saboteur. I can have the bright ideas, and I can do the work to make them real, but when they don’t happen on my timeline, or aren’t received in the way I had hoped, well…let’s just say I’ve spent a lot of time blaming myself for failing to achieve something that just wasn’t meant to be…’yet.’.

Working with lunar families has been one of the best ways I've found to meet that self-doubt with stability, maturity, and the understanding that there is wisdom in the timing of all things.

Seeing the arc — where something began, where it is now, where it's going — can take so much pressure off. Off of ourselves AND our relationships.

What a Client Said

One last thing I found as I went time traveling back to the beginning of this Moon family.

A client was just beginning to find words for a vision that had been living inside her but hadn't yet made it into her relationships. Here's what she said:

"Maybe sharing some of that with the people I love a little bit — why I want to be more intentional about this thing that's been inside of me but not necessarily outside of me — will help. Giving those thoughts agency within the relationships I have as well."

Discovering this today makes me wonder how she's doing now. And it reinforces the Libra Full Moon invitation:

bring all of yourself into your relationships

The Arc of This Moon Family

New Moon — Solar Eclipse (Seed) October 2, 2024 · 10°03′ Libra Something deep in our relational patterns was ready to shift.

First Quarter (Emerging Issues) July 2, 2025 · 11°09′ Libra How we were showing up in our relationships began to surface.

Full Moon (Revelation) April 1, 2026 · 12°21′ Libra The light shines on what was seeded then. What was hidden becomes visible.

Last Quarter (Closure & Integration) December 30, 2026 · 9°05′ Libra What we've lived through this cycle begins to find its meaning.

Moon families remind us that we are always in the midst of becoming. That moments of confusion, tenderness, or dissolution are not necessarily signs that something has gone wrong, but are part of an arc we can't yet see the full shape of.

If October 2024 brought something up for you in your relationships, in the way you give and receive, in what you were willing to put words to, then this Full Moon is asking you to notice what has grown from that. What you've learned. And to get a little excited about the future vision you're living into.
