Cancer New Moon
A Call for Grace
New Moon - Cancer
Monday, July 14th
5:44 AM EST
There's a lot of talk about the extraordinary astrology unfolding right now.
And rightly so.
From the perspective of planetary cycles, we're living through a remarkable period of new beginnings. After weeks of poring over charts, reading the work of astrologers I trust, and weaving the storylines of my life into the collective fabric of life, I realized, gratefully, that I do not need to attempt to cover every detail.
My intention with the Emotional Weather Reports is to explore how simply and personally I can translate what I'm studying, what is stirring my imagination, and what I'm experiencing in my own life alongside the lives of the people I have the privilege of walking with.
As fascinating as the astrological weather is, my heart keeps returning to a more pressing question.
What does it feel like to be living through these times?
Whether on a client call, a mentorship class, in the coffee shop or in my living room, I seem to be hearing the same thing.
"I'm tired."
Not just physically tired. A deeper kind of tiredness.
I wonder if this weariness is part of living through times that are asking so much of our hearts - and learning how meeting our essential needs often requires rest before we get the next set of instructions.
It's an interesting paradox.
Much of the astrology right now carries the feeling of movement. Saturn in Aries asks us to take responsibility for becoming ourselves. Mars and Uranus in Gemini awaken new ideas, new conversations, and possibilities we can almost taste. There is so much we want to do.
And yet...
Our bodies may be telling another story.
Chiron in Taurus reminds us that healing doesn't always happen at the speed of inspiration. Sometimes the body asks for something that feels almost reckless in a world that prizes constant motion.
Rest
Presence
Nourishment
Time
Rather than seeing these as competing forces, I wonder if they are preparing us for one another. What if claiming rest is a revolutionary act? One that actually creates the conditions that will allow us to meet each moment with greater presence.
Which brings us to this Cancer New Moon.
The Sun, Moon, and Mercury come together in Cancer, with the New Moon occurring at 22 degrees.
I love this number. It is associated with Grace in the Gene Keys, which leads us right to the Great Cosmic Mother herself. Here, grace is not something we earn or beg for, although we can ask for it. When we do, it becomes more recognizable in our daily lives.
The sign of Cancer is ruled by the Moon. The moon drives the tides on the outside AND the inside, reminding us that while the larger planetary cycles unfold over months and years, we experience them one feeling, one conversation, one memory, and one ordinary day at a time.
The Moon teaches us to pay attention.
To look up.
To notice when she is barely there, big and round and everything in between.
She reminds us to ask:
How am I feeling today?
Not so we can become consumed by our emotions, but so we can remain in relationship with them.
This month, I am paying close attention to the Moon as it makes contact with the outer planets, which describe the nature of the times we're living in. The Moon carries those larger conversations into our everyday lives, but we might not notice if we don't have a practice of tuning in to what's unfolding.
How are we participating in the times we are living through?
Perhaps this begins by noticing the conditions under which our hearts truly flourish, becoming curious about what allows us to soften, rest, and remember who we are beneath the noise.
If tears come, welcome each one as a prayer for grace.
With that in mind, let's explore how this Cancer New Moon may be experienced through each of the twelve Rising Signs.
New Moon in Cancer
Aries Rising
Come Home to Yourself
This Cancer New Moon invites you to tend the place where your life begins: your inner foundation.
So much is changing.
Your sense of identity evolves as your mind is opening to new possibilities. Your relationships with community and belonging may be shifting. Through it all, life is gently asking you to create an inner home spacious enough to hold the person you're becoming.
Rather than rushing toward the next answer, this New Moon invites you to trust the wisdom of slowing down.
Grace isn't asking you to have it all figured out.
She's asking you to create the conditions where your heart can flourish.
Reflection: What does your heart need to flourish?
Taurus Rising
Let the Words Come
This Cancer New Moon invites you to pay attention to the conversations that are shaping your inner world.
Not every conversation happens with another person.
Some unfold in the pages of a journal, others while on a walk (or brushing your teeth!), and some arrive as a realization that changes the way you speak to yourself.
As your inner life continues to deepen and your understanding of what truly matters evolves, this New Moon reminds you that conversations can gently reshape the course of your life.
You don't have to have all the answers.
Let the words come.
Reflection: What conversations nourish your heart?
Gemini Rising
Honor What Sustains You
This Cancer New Moon invites you to pay attention to what truly nourishes your life.
As your understanding of yourself continues to evolve, and new possibilities begin to emerge for your future, you may find that what once sustained you no longer does.
That's okay.
Growth often asks us to become more realistic about what we actually need.
Rather than measuring your life by how much you can accomplish, this New Moon invites you to notice what leaves you feeling rooted, resourced, and alive.
Those are the conditions from which everything else grows.
Reflection: What truly nourishes your journey of becoming?
Cancer Rising
Welcome Yourself
Everything feels personal right now.
And perhaps that's exactly as it should be.
This Cancer New Moon arrives in your First House, inviting you to begin again with yourself.
As your relationship with purpose continues to evolve, your understanding of your own worth deepens, and old patterns around trust and vulnerability begin to shift, you may find yourself feeling life more directly than usual.
Rather than seeing your sensitivity as something to manage, what if it's helping you recognize what truly matters?
Grace isn't asking you to become someone different.
She's inviting you to welcome yourself exactly where you are and trust that your heart already knows the way forward.
Reflection: What does it mean to feel at home within yourself?
Leo Rising
Honor Your Inner Rhythm
Much is changing around you.
Relationships are evolving. Your vision for the future is expanding. You may even sense a new chapter waiting just beyond the horizon.
And yet, this Cancer New Moon invites you somewhere altogether different.
Within.
This is a season for honoring your inner rhythm, allowing space for reflection, restoration, and the wisdom that often arrives before a new beginning.
Rest is not pulling you away from your path.
It may be preparing you to walk it with greater clarity.
Reflection: How does your inner life restore you?
Virgo Rising
Receive the Gift of Belonging
This Cancer New Moon invites you to nurture the relationships and communities that remind you you don't have to do life alone.
As your work, purpose, and understanding of what it means to give and receive continue to evolve, you may find yourself longing for connections that feel more nourishing, mutual, and real.
You don't have to earn your place.
You don't have to prove your worth before you belong.
This New Moon reminds you that the future isn't something we build by ourselves.
It grows through relationships rooted in care, trust, and shared humanity.
Reflection: How has your experience of belonging shaped your ideas of belonging?
Libra Rising
Lead with Your Heart
This Cancer New Moon invites you to bring more of your heart into the work you feel called to do.
As your relationships deepen, your perspective widens, and your creative spirit continues to transform, you may find yourself rethinking what success truly means.
Perhaps your greatest contribution isn't simply what you accomplish.
Perhaps it's the way people feel in your presence.
The world doesn't need a more polished version of you.
It needs the real one.
Let your work become an expression of what you love.
Reflection: How do your gifts to become a meaningful contribution?
Scorpio Rising
Trust the Journey
This Cancer New Moon invites you to lift your eyes from the immediate demands of life and remember the larger story unfolding around you.
As your foundations continue to shift, your daily life asks for new rhythms, and your understanding of trust evolves, you may find yourself questioning what you once believed with certainty.
That isn't necessarily a sign you've lost your way, but it may be that your world is becoming more spacious.
You don't need every answer before taking the next step.
Sometimes faith grows one experience at a time.
Reflection: What deepens your faith in life?
Sagittarius Rising
Receive with Grace
This Cancer New Moon invites you to soften into the places where trust is asking to grow.
As your relationships evolve, your understanding of life expands, and your creative spirit matures, you may discover that strength isn't found in having all the answers.
Sometimes it's found in allowing yourself to be seen.
To receive support.
To share what is true.
The deepest transformations often begin not with what we accomplish, but with what we're willing to put our faith in love.
Reflection: What helps you to trust yourself more deeply?
Capricorn Rising
Receive the Love That's Here
This Cancer New Moon invites you to notice the relationships that nourish your life.
As your understanding of your own worth deepens, your foundations continue to shift, and your daily rhythms evolve, you may also discover new ways of giving and receiving care.
You don't have to carry everything by yourself.
Sometimes strength looks like allowing yourself to lean on someone you trust.
This New Moon reminds you that relationships flourish when both people are willing to receive as generously as they give.
Reflection: How can you receive support with grace?
Aquarius Rising
Care for Your Everyday Life
This Cancer New Moon invites you to notice the small rhythms that support your well-being.
As your identity continues to evolve, your relationships deepen, and your creative spirit asks for more room to breathe, your daily life may be asking for attention too.
Not because you've done something wrong.
Because the life you're becoming deserves practices that nourish it.
Small acts of care are never small.
They become the foundation from which everything else can grow.
Reflection: What daily practices make your heart flourish?
Pisces Rising
Let Joy Lead the Way
This Cancer New Moon invites you to make room for what brings your heart alive.
As your understanding of your own worth deepens, your foundations continue to shift, and old stories make way for new ones, you may discover that joy is no longer something to postpone.
It becomes part of the path.
Creativity
Play
Laughter
Love
These are not distractions from the work of becoming yourself - they are necessary ingredients. Your heart knows how to grow when it's given room to breathe.
Reflection: What enlivens your heart?
